Terms of Service
Effective August 8, 2026
SelfPing (selfping.com) is an independent service built and run by Brett Schneider. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
What SelfPing is
SelfPing sends text messages to your own verified phone number, triggered by your own code, apps and tools through an API key. There is no recipient field: a key can only text the number that created it.
Text messaging terms
By signing up with your phone number you consent to receive a one-time passcode to verify the number, and the texts you trigger through the service. Message frequency varies and is controlled by you. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Acceptable use
SelfPing is for messaging yourself. Do not use it to harass anyone, to send unlawful content, or to attempt delivery to numbers you do not own. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or degrade it for others.
Plans and credits
Free accounts include a monthly allowance of texts that refills on the 1st. Paid plans include larger allowances. A text that we hand off for delivery consumes one credit. Unused credits do not roll over.
Service quality
We work to deliver every text, and your dashboard shows the delivery outcome of your most recent message. SMS is carried by third-party networks, so delivery cannot be guaranteed. The service is provided as is, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.
Changes
We may update these terms, and material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Questions are welcome through the contact page.
