SelfPing (selfping.com) is an independent service built and run by Brett Schneider. It sends text messages to your own verified phone number, triggered by your own code. This page describes what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

Your phone number. It is your account identity and the only destination texts can be delivered to. You prove you own it with a one-time passcode at signup.

Messages you send yourself. We process the content of each message in order to deliver it, and keep delivery records (whether a text arrived, and why not if it didn't) so you can see them on your dashboard.

Account and billing details. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.

Basic usage data. Ordinary web logs and API usage counts, used to run the service and enforce plan limits.

What we do not do

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Opt-in data and consent for text messaging will not be shared with any third party.

We do not sell your data, and we do not send you marketing texts. Every text through SelfPing is one you triggered yourself.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers needed to run SelfPing: SMS delivery carriers, payment processing, authentication and hosting. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Text messaging

Message frequency varies and is controlled entirely by you. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts and HELP for help. See our Terms for the full messaging terms.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account data while your account is active. To delete your account and its data, reach out through the contact page and we will remove it.
